This workshop has been designed to enable people who have an interest in photography to develop their skills and gain a greater understanding of how to create outstanding images from digital cameras.

It starts with a tutorial explaining the concept of digital imagery and how it differs from traditional photography.

We then discuss all the controlling influences on obtaining the perfect image. These include;

• The control of light and how it relates to the cameras settings.
• Composition and how it is related to the use of a different lens and perspective.
• The importance of choosing the correct file formats.
• Review the main settings found on a digital camera
• The best use of these settings.
• Advantages of using manual or automatic settings.
• Review software solutions

We will then travel to a location to take photographs and at this stage individual tution will be available. This will include good composition, the correct use of lens perspective, depth of field and the control of light.

Your results will then be down loaded into Adobe Photoshop and we will review all the essential editing requirements in the software to enhance your images. The images will then be edited to enable you to gain an appreciation of the effectiveness of image enhancement.  

At the end of the processing tutorial you will have the knowledge of how to create the best results from your downloaded images.

The will then be a period to review the day and follow up on any areas that need more clarity. Also give advice, discuss and review camera and software performance.

You will then be able to choose one of your final images and have a framed print created to take home; along with litreature from the course.
